T88-M

a subline of the murine early B-lineage T88 cell line (marker spectrum: B220(+), Ly1(+), soluble and cytoplasmic IgM(-), Ia(-), Thy1(-), IL2 receptor (+)).

The growth of T88-M cells is dependent on exogenous IL5 (see also: Factor-dependent cell lines). The cells express both high- and low affinity IL5 receptors. The cells have been used to study the biology of IL5 receptors and in bioassays of murine and rat IL5.
