[TNF receptor superfamily member 22] The name for this protein is based on its homology with other members of the TNF receptor superfamily of proteins. This murine factor has been described also as TNFRH2 [TNF receptor homolog 2] (Schneider et al, 2003). The protein is most related to TRAIL receptors and binds murine TRAIL. The protein has no cytoplasmic region containing a death domain utilized for interactions between proteins involved in cell death by apoptosis. Overexpression of TNFRSF22 in 293T-cells does not trigger apoptosis or activation of transcription factor NF-kappa-B
