V7
V7 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of proteins that is expressed on approximately 30 % of peripheral blood T-cells and also on most monocytes and granulocytes as well as weakly on B-cells and NK-cells (Rivas et al, 1995; Ruegg et al, 1995).
On T-cells, engagement of V7 with an antibody downregulates TCR/CD3-dependent cellular proliferation by blocking IL2 production (Rivas et al, 1995; Soares et al, 1997). Cross-linking of V7 on T-cells without concomitant T-cell receptor engagement renders the cells resistant to TCR/CD3-mediated cell activation (Soares LRB et al, 1998).
