WKYMVm

This synthetic peptide (Trp-Lys-Tyr-Val-D-Met) (also referred to as W peptide) has been selected from random peptide libraries on the basis of its ability to stimulate phosphoinositide hydrolysis in lymphocytes (Baek et al, 1996; Seo et al, 1997). This peptide cannot be classified as one of the cytokines or growth factors due to its small molecular weight (see also: regulatory peptide factors). WKYMVm activates receptors FPR1, FPRL1, and FPRL2 in a calcium mobilization assay (Christophe et al, 2001).
