This protein is found in the conditioned medium of the myeloid leukemia cell line ML-1 when stimulated with phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (see also: Phorbol esters). N-terminal sequence analysis reveals the identity with IL8 (Suzuki et al, 1993).
