[externally regulated phosphatase] erp is a growth factor-inducible non-transmembrane tyrosine phosphatase of 367 amino acids (Noguchi et al, 1993). erp also displays serine protein phosphatase activity. The protein displays significant similarity to Vaccinia virus protein phosphatase VH1. It is known also as CL100, 3CH134 or mitogen-activated kinase phosphatase-1 (MKP-1).
