This term does not refer to a specific cell type but rather reflects a certain morphology of cells. Das et al (2010) have observed this morphology in sections of Anaplastic large cell lymphoma and referred to this morphology also as hand mirror cells, characterized by a long stout cytoplasmic tail, like the handle of a mirror.
Others have given a cytomorphological description of cells with a tapering body, a single oval nucleus in the expanded end and a thin rim of cytoplasm surrounding the nucleus.
Cells with this morphology have been described in embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (Ng, 2007), urothelial carcinoma (Johnswon and Kini, 1993), mixed mesodermal
