AIP1

[ALG2 interacting protein-1] A protein associated with the apoptosis-linked gene ALG2 (Vito et al, 1999). Overexpression of a truncated form of AIP1 has been shown to protect some cell types from cell death induced by withdrawal of trophic factors (see also: Factor-dependent cell lines).

Chen et al (2000) have isolated the homologous rat AIP1 gene and have named it Alix (ALG2 interacting protein X; new designation PDCD6IP [PDCD6 interacting protein]. They show that the protein interacts with SETA, a protein with a src homology domain (SH3 domain ... ... ... ...
