BXMAS1 is a cell surface receptor identified by Nakayama et al (2001). The receptor is activated by anti-IgM crosslinking of Burkitt lymphoma BL2 cells. The protein predicted from the cDNA contains 977 amino acids, with a cytoplasmic domain containing 2 regulatory ITIM motifs. The ectodomain of the protein contains 8 Ig-like domains. expression of BXMAS1 appears to be restricted to B-cells. Sequence analysis shows that BXMAS1 is identical with FCRL5.
In the nomenclature of CD antigens the receptor has been given the designation CD307e. Note that the previously used designation was CD307.
