[caspase recruitment domain-containing protein-11] CARD11 (Bertin et al, 2001) contains an N-terminal caspase recruitment domain (CARD). It also contains a C-terminal PDZ domain, an SH3 domain, and a GUK domain. The protein has been described as CARMA1 [CARD-MAGUK protein-1] by Gaide et al (2002) and is known also as BIMP3 [BCL10-interacting MAGUK protein 3] (McAllister-Lucas et al, 2001).
CARD11 participates in signaling cell death by apoptosis by activating transcription factor NF-kappa-B and by binding to BCL10
