[immune receptor expressed by myeloid cells 2] The gene encoding this protein has been cloned by Aguilar et al (2004). In the nomenclature of CD antigens this protein has been given the designation CD300E. The protein is known also as CD300LE [CD300 molecule-like family member LE]. IREM2 expression appears to be restricted to dendritic cells and monocytes and is downregulated upon differentiation.
