Ly-B
This older designation for a differentiation antigen expressed on lymphocytes (Boyse et al, 1968) has been replaced by the designation Ly2 [lymphocyte antigen 2], which, in turn, is also an obsolete designation for the membrane glycoprotein, the CD antigen CD8a. Murine Ly2 has been cloned by Nakauchi et al (1985). Zamoyska et al (1985) have reported that alternative splicing yields two variants of the protein.
