[mammalian CED3 homolog-2] The corresponding gene was cloned from Jurkat T-lymphocytes (Fernandez-Alnemri et al, 1995). The human MCH2 gene maps to chromosome 4q25-q26 (Tiso et al, 1996). It encodes a protein of 34 kDa that is highly homologous to human CPP32, Caenorhabditis elegans cell death protein CED3, mammalian ICH-1, and mammalian IL1-beta Convertase. Two different spliced forms, MCH2-alpha and MCH2-beta are known. Only MCH2-alpha
