MGDF
[megakaryocyte growth and development factor] This factor has been identified in aplastic canine plasma and the corresponding gene has been cloned from canine, murine, and human sources. MGDF bioactivity resides in two protein species of 25 kDa and 31 kDa that share the same N-terminal amino acids. Human, canine, and murine cDNAs for MGDF are highly conserved and encode open reading frames for proteins of 353, 352, and 356 amino acids, respectively, including a secretory signal sequence.
