[neuroblastoma growth inhibitory factor] This biochemically uncharacterized factor (75 kDa by gel filtration) has been observed in the conditioned medium of normal rat glioblasts. Cell growth rates and DNA synthesis in neuroblastoma cells (Neuro2a, NS-20Y, and N1E-115) cultured in the presence of NGIF are markedly inhibited. The factor induces morphological differentiation including neural process formation.
