Pleurocidin is an antimicrobial peptide of 25 amino acids (GWGSFFKKAAHVGKHVGKAALTHYLamide) found in skin mucous secretions of the winter flounder (Pleuronectes americanus) (Cole et al, 1997). For a family of peptides related to Pleurocidin see also: pleurocidin-like peptides.
