Erythropoiesis begins with development of primitive erythrocytes in the embryonic yolk sac, continues in the fetal liver and is finally located in red bone marrow (for reviews see: Alter, 1994; Bieber E, 2001; Dame and Juul, 2000; Ingley et al, 2004; Koury et al, 2002; Palis and Segel, 1998; Perry and Soreq, 2002).
