[monocyte chemotactic and activating factor] This factor of 15 kDa (76 amino acids) is called also MCF (macrophage chemotactic factor) or TSG-8 (see: TSG genes).
MCAF is produced by monocytes and macrophages, fibroblasts, endothelial cells, keratinocytes, smooth muscle cells, astrocytes. and various tumor cells lines.
