NNT-1/BSF-3

[Novel neurotrophin-1/B-cell stimulating factor-3] The cDNA (225 aa with a 27 aa signal sequence) for this factor has been cloned from activated Jurkat human T-cell lymphoma cells. Its sequence is related to that of cardiotrophin-1 and CNTF and the factor has been described also as CLC [cardiotrophin-like cytokine]. Murine and human factor show 96 % homology. The gene for NNT-1/BSF-3 maps to human chromosome 11q13 (Senaldi et al, 1999). The approved gene symbol is CLCF1 [cardiotrophin-like cytokine factor-1].
