TALL-1
[TNF and ApoL related leukocyte expressed ligand-1] TALL-1 is a type 2 transmembrane protein (285 amino acids). The protein is related to APRIL, FAS ligand, TRAIL, and TNF-beta and belongs to the TNF ligand superfamily.
The protein has been given the designation TNFSF13B [TNF ligand superfamily member 13B]. Other names for the protein are BLyS, BAFF, and THANK.
TALL-1 is expressed specifically in monocytes and macrophages but is undetectable in T-cells and B-lymphocytes but is barely detectable in other tissues.
