This factor is identical with MIP-1-alpha (see: MIP, macrophage inflammatory protein) and therefore belongs to the family of chemotactic cytokines known as Chemokines (subgroup of CC-Chemokines). The factor is known also as SCYA3 and the approved gene symbol is CCL3.
